Newton System 500 Basement Waterproofing
Newton System 500 is a waterproofing system for below ground areas and basements, developed by John Newton & Co (Est. 1848), industry leaders in UK waterproofing. It is based on the cavity drain principle, pioneered by John Newton in 1937. Unlike conventional tanking/external below ground waterproofing, this system is not attempting the almost impossible ie. trying to hold water back, but depressurises the wall and manages water by capturing it and diverting it out of the property
Tradition NZ solution for leaking basement areas involve either excavation and r -waterproofing (very costly, often impossible and just replacing what has already failed) or internal coatings that can’t be guaranteed and can’t be penetrated, severely limiting options to fit out and decorate the areas.
